Baseball World Series
The Baseball World Series will held in 2010. The game is scheduled to be played starting from 20 to 29 August, 2010. However, all the games will be held at the Little League International complex in Williamsport, PA. The Baseball World Series 2010 is the end of season championship contest of the Major League Baseball based in North America, played in August or October each year. However, the winner of the series is determined by a best-of-seven game playoff between the winners of each of the baseball leagues - The American League and the National League. For the upcoming events in Baseball World Series 2010, the general public can get tickets for this Baseball World Championship through a lottery system. Tickets will be free for Howard J. Lamade Stadium, where the final rounds of the Baseball World Series have been held every year since 1959. This stadium has the capacity of approximately 10,000 spectators. The hillside terraces just beyond the outfield fence, which offers excellent viewing, can accommodate up to 30,000 more fans. The Baseball World Series 2010 will feature 16 teams all over the world.
The trophy for Baseball World Series is made of sterling silver, weighing approximately 30 pounds. It is 24 inches tall and 11 inches around. It features thirty flags representing the thirty teams in North America's two top leagues (the National League and the American League). The flags rise above an arched silver ox baseball with latitude and longitude lines symbolizing the world. The baseball itself contains 24-karat vermeil baseball stitches and weighs over 10 pounds. The base contains an inscription and the signature of the commissioner.
For the safety and enjoyment for all the fans and spectators certain items such as alcohol, large tarps, large coolers, large bags or containers, glass containers, plastic containers, cans or others items containing liquid/fluid, pets, solicitation, fireworks, laser pointers, knives and weapons of any kinds are prohibited in the League Complex. A wide variety of food and refreshments will be available, and Baseball League World Series souvenirs will also be available. Pin Trading is encouraged in a special area set-aside for this purpose.
